Joining the In The Round team in August 2008, Matthew approaches his role as a visual design intern with enthusiasm and passion. Bringing experience from a previous internship with a Cleveland-based advertising agency, he uniquely combines creative design with strong writing abilities and an understanding of the advertising world.

 

Matthew is a senior Visual Communication Design major with a minor in Advertising, as well as a member of the Honors College at Kent State University. Although he spends more time in the Art Building than his apartment, he is accustomed to organizing projects and establishing priorities. He is looking forward to graduating in May 2009.

 

Former President of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Matthew has promoted participation in community service both internal and external to the fraternity. These include helping to build houses with Habitat for Humanity, picking up trash for the Adopt-A-Highway program, and volunteering to tutor Rootstown Elementary School students struggling with reading and reading comprehension. Matthew still finds time to write poetry and hopes to have his collection Portrait of a Paper Bag published by summer 2009.
